There are opportunities that only happen once in a lifetime, being it in a personal, work or self-development way, and when the opportunity to join Stratio, and even more the NUMA training programme, came my way, I didn’t think twice.
Once it was over, Stratio asked me to give it a voice and my fellow trainees. This training programme is not common, it has been five weeks in which we have become real experts in the Stratio platform and in data governance and management. Moreover, we have gone from being strangers to each other, to forging bonds and friendships that will surely last for a long time.
Stratio’s NUMA programme is a novel training system. The name derives from No-University, No-Master, and that is exactly what it is all about: a programme that doesn’t build on a normal training method, but prepares students to enter the professional world in a much more direct way.
Throughout the five weeks of this NUMA 6.0 programme, the participants have received training in each and every one of the modules that make up the Stratio tools, as well as the platforms that have been used to develop these tools. Thanks to this training, we have been able to develop real projects aimed at improving the company, and we will now tell you what they consisted of.
After all, NUMA brings together members with different orientations within the IT world, and that is why the projects developed have been oriented to the profile of a specific group of trainees: two projects have been developed on data management and governance, all developed through Stratio’s own tools, and another project whose objective has been to implement a new functionality in the Governance platform.
Stratio Certifications
This project has arisen from the need to control the status of the Certifications offered by Stratio through the free educational platform Moodle.
Certifications are an excellent opportunity for customers to test the platform without a large capital investment. In addition, they can be seen as a marketing strategy, as customers undecided on which Data product to purchase can see first-handed that with the Stratio product it is possible to achieve results in a few seconds.
After the corresponding data analysis, insights such as the time needed to pass the certification, the pass rate, as well as the proportion of enrollees who spend time on the platform have been extracted.
Stratio Discovery Book
The project consisted of creating an application to organise dashboards of Stratio’s Discovery product in folders, with administration by teams and different permissions according to types of users, allowing the folders to be profiled by departments. In addition to the integration with Discovery, this has also been done with other products such as Governance and Gosec. For this task, the team was divided into two teams, one for back-end programming and the other for front-end programming, and using Java microservices programming and Angular respectively, they developed the application.
Stratians in the world
This project, encouraged by the new Law 10/2021 of 9 July, commonly known as remote work law, has been developed to have information about the location of the clocking-in location of the workers. In addition, very valuable information has been obtained by being able to locate, in a more precise way, where the workers reside, giving shape to the data. This has been done through the information provided by the Factorial application, crossing it with the addresses that the workers provided to the company once they entered it.
Finally, an analysis of the company’s absence requests was also carried out, allowing us to see the popularity of these requests and the number of requests.
Once the project was proposed by the chapter People, the feedback received was very positive, fulfilling their expectations, and we hope to be able to put it into production as soon as possible.
As we can observe with the projects we have developed, the NUMA programme has allowed us to train and learn by working as we would do in a real project. Moreover, we have started in the best possible way: giving value to the company, and having managed to integrate into the work dynamics of the company in a quick and agile way. This is a new and effective way of integrating into the company, and I couldn’t be happier to take the opportunity I mentioned at the beginning of this post.
